In Yerevan’s Matenadaran, the depository of manuscripts in the name of Mesrop Mashtots, there are many manuscripts dating from the seventh to the nineteenth century, which include images and tables regarding astrologic, cosmographic and cartographic subjects. However, their texts, indices, lists and descriptions existing in the Matenadaran are also all in Armenian. Therefore, the foreign scholars and researchers have no means of finding out about the treasures kept there. In part one of the book, the author has selected some information and images from of the important cosmologic and cartographic manuscripts and presented them in English translation so that scholars can see and perhaps examine these texts. Part two of the volume presents some of the important maps and atlases kept in the Matenadaran.
